Whose Team Do You Play For?

Hello Everyone!

How are y'all doing today? We have had a great week this week. Thank you so much for your letter! It makes me laugh every time y'all do a letter like that. We had an extremely busy week this week.

On Tuesday we had our activity zone conference. It was really fun! The first three hours we got to learn from President Bernhisel and a few other leaders from our mission. The theme of the conference was "Who's team do you play for?" We learned about being unified with our ward's and branches to hasten the work of salvation. Overall it was a great meeting. The last two hours of the meeting we had a lot of fun! For two hours we played vollyball, capture the flag, soccer, and ultimate frisby. It was a miracle we were even able to play because it had been raining all day, but stopped for a few hours right at the time that we were scheduled to play. We had a blast. I got to see a lot of missionaries that I am great friends with and enjoyed playing those games with them! As you can imagine, I was extremely sore the following days that I could hardly walk. I think most of the missionaries felt the same way.

We also had our temple trip!! It was amazing as ever. Brother Warren drove us and the Elders from Southport to the temple. It was a great day! We left at 6:00 in the morning and got home around 8:00 in the evening. It was a long day, but a great day at the same time. Brother Warren was such a big help and we really appreciate all that he did for us!

We had a great experience with a less active member named Sister C--. We were coming home from another lesson and we felt that we should call her and see if we could go and see her. When she picked up the phone she seemed really down. She told us that one of her daughters had gone missing and she didn't know where she was. She had taken the truck and had disappeared. At first Sister C-- said that she didn't want us to come over because she was too angry and worried about what was happening. After talking to her for a few more minutes on the phone she said that it would be alright for us to come and visit her. When we got there she still was really stressed and worried about her daughter. She not only was worried, but was angry that her daughter would do such a thing. We read from the Book of Mormon about Alma the younger. We talked about how there is almost nothing more powerful that a prayer of a mother for her children. We read other scriptures about prayer and helped her gain an assurance that everything would be ok. As we were leaving she said that she felt at peace and was not as worried. It was a great example to me on how the Holy Ghost can comfort us in our times of need. I've seen that so many times out here that I really, really believe it.

M-- is doing well. She is doing her best to quit smoking and is going great so far. She is reading The Book of Mormon like crazy and is also reading with her 10 year old daughter. She just gets it. She loves the Book of Mormon because she says it has brought a peace into her home that was not there before. It is great to see how she is changed since we have been meeting with her. She has started to do all she can to improve her quality of life and to follow Jesus Christ.
