Dear family and friends,
This has probably been my best week here in Hope Mills so far. We are
starting to see a lot of success in all aspects of missionary work. This week we
found 6 new investigators, 5 of them from working with members here in Hope
Mills. We did get a chance to teach that family that I told you about last week.
Their name is the S-- family. There is a mom, dad, and three kids. The father
was not able to make it on Friday but we did get to teach the rest of the
family. The lesson went perfectly. We first had dinner with them and the B--
family who are members. We got to talk to them and get to know them better.
After that we taught the message of the restoration to them. They responded very
well and seem excited to come to church and to learn more. We talked to Sister
S-- the day after on the phone and she said that they really liked what they
learned. They are super solid and we are excited to continue teaching
them!
Sister V-- is still doing well. She has done a better job at keeping the
word of wisdom. She still is hesitant to say that she believes in Jesus Christ
but she has started to believe because of how what she is learning is making her
a better person. She should still be on track for her baptism is she continues
to not smoke and drink.
We still are teaching a lot of active members and are helping them do
missionary work. Now that we are starting to see progress we are even more
excited to help more people do missionary work.
Thanks for the updates on the family and how they are doing. Its crazy to
think of how another school year is starting. Where at BYU is Brianne living?
There is a member from our ward who is going to be a freshman at BYU as well, I
think she said that she is staying is Heleman Halls. Her name is H--.
You will have to let me know if you meet her Bri. It sounds like soccer is going
well for everyone, that is great! I am lucky to have such a talented family.
Mom Happy Birthday tomorrow! I hope that you have a great day! Thank you
for being such a great Mother for me!
I hope Y'all have a great week this week!
Love Elder Mortensen
