Hello Everybody,
This week was a very good and busy one! We have been teaching a pretty
large amount of people and have had a lot of teaching appointments with
investigators. Elder Edman is doing very well!! He is already a great teacher
and is a diligent worker. It makes being a trainer really easy. We work really
well together and I feel that a lot of good things will continue to happen with
our companionship. So we have seen Dana and Leon since her surgery, we had a
lesson with them last week and they came to church as well!!! Dana is still on track for the 29th. Leon is also making a lot of progress
but may take more time. He has gone a little over 3 weeks without smoking now!!!
It is amazing to see them grow. Overall we had 5 investigators at church this
week!!! It has been an amazing couple of months as far as church attendance
goes, except for last week, we have had at least 3 or 4 investigators at
sacrament meeting!! God is truly blessing us.
Gordon is making some really good steps as well. He came to church
again and said that he loved it! He has become pretty good friends with a few of
the priests in our ward and says he see's them at school all of the time now!
The last lesson we had with him was quite an amazing experience. We asked him
how he feels when he reads the Book of Mormon and if he notices a difference in
the days he does and the days he doesn't read. He said he noticed a big
difference! He said that since he has been reading the Book of Mormon regularly,
he has become a better person. He said he feels happier, and more confident. We
then talked about how that was the spirit that is telling him of the
truthfullness of our message. It was amazing to see him start to understand how
the spirit works. He said that he thinks that might be his answer. It is amazing
to see how far he has come, we have a lesson scheduled with him tomorrow so
hopefully we will be able to set a new baptisimal date with him!
Some other news that will be happening this week.. We are going to be
getting another companion here in Wilmington. He will be staying with us for 3
weeks until the end of the transfer. Im not sure how exactly it is going to
work, but we will probbably be teaching both the people here and the people in
Hampstead (where he is serving). It should be an interesting and exciting time
to be able to teach some new people because we will be splitting time
between areas. We will be teaching mostly those investigators who are
progressing, which will be exciting.
Its good to hear that everything back home is going well! Im a little
jealous of the time yall get to spend with each other. That is also exciting
that you got to go to the temple open house. If I could do it over again, I
would go back and try to attend the temple more often because I really miss it.
Luckilly we are going to the Raleigh temple this Friday!! I am so excited. We
get to go every 6 months while here on a mission.
I hope you know that I love you all. Thank you for your support and your
letters. I enjoy hearing from you. I pray that you will continue to have a
blessed life and that you will be continually happy.
Love Elder Brayden Mortensen
