God Will Bless Us Very Specifically If We Pray Specifically

Dear Family and Friends.

 

How are y'all doing? Everything here is going great! There was a lot of great things that happened that I am excited to tell you about!

First off, the H-- and B-- families did get baptized on Saturday and confirmed the next day! A total of 6 of them joined the church. As you can imagine, it was a great day for everyone involved. Getting everything prepared for the baptismal service was kind of hectic. We had to find white jumpsuits that would fit all of them. We were successful in that. Once everything was settled in the baptism went great! There was a lot of good support from the ward which was great to see. I had to opportunity to baptize the older three and Elder Thornton did the younger three. It was great! The next day we had all 6 of their confirmations is Sacrament meeting. It was another great thing to be apart of. When we were talking to the family at church, the parents said that all weekend they couldn't stop talking about their baptism. They also said that once they were baptized, that they could not stop smiling! It was a great opportunity to teach this family and help them follow Jesus Christ. Most of the kids parents are members but there are a few who are not. Not yet anyway:)

We had another exciting event on Saturday before the baptism. We had a mission wide meeting with Elder's Zwick and Pino of the Seventy. They came and taught us some really great things. I think the message I got from them was very similar to the same message that I gathered from General Conference. They talked a lot about spiritual growth and how important it is for us as missionaries to not get complacent or apathetic with our missionary work. There was a lot of missionaries there, 203 to be exact. It was a large group.
 

The rest of our investigators are doing great! We have a very large teaching pool currently even with the H--'s and B--'s getting baptized. We teach probably around 15 lessons a week. One thing I've learned is that God will bless us very specifically if we pray specifically. Ever since Ive had the opportunities to teach a few families, We have been praying specifically to find more families. The Lord has been blessing us with a lot of families to teach. One of them Is P-- and M--. They are doing great! They came to the baptism and to church this week! They also brought two of their friends to church with them that we will hopefully start teaching more. Another family that we are teaching is the P-- family. They have two kids, I-- (9) and T-- (16) who are not yet members that we are teaching. They are great kids! They have been to church a few times and also the youth activities.

 

To answer some of your questions, our mission has 6 zones in it. Ours is the second largest numbers wise. We have zone meetings every month. We organize those meetings and are in charge of delegating the assignments for who will participate in those meetings. Those meetings are 3 hours long. Every other transfer or so we have zone conferences. President Bernhisel organizes those and is in charge of the training and delegation of teaching assignments. Every week that we don't have those meetings, all missionaries go to their district meetings that the district leaders organize. In our zone we have 4 districts. Elder Thornton and I get to to to each of the district meetings once a transfer.
